I had to return the product twice, finally for a refund. I'm not a picky person, but I needed it to function they way they advertise, and it simply doesn't. The touchscreen was flaky at best, and the video recorder had severe sync problems between the audio and video (the audio would be normal, but the video would compress: start late, play super fast, stop early). TRIO's support was horrible - their solution to everything is drain the battery, hold in the power button for 15 seconds, and charge it up again. They claimed the problems I experienced was unique but both problems were identical on both units. I won't buy from TRIO again.

Everything is really nice... but the touchscreen. Unpredictable actions even after calibrating many times. Makes the overall value & nther nice features kinda useless.

This unit entices with features, but actual performance is not what I had envisioned. Every time I turned it on, I had to reset the time and date. The camera takes very poor quality pictures. I will have to purchase a different Digital Voice Recorder. This was a bad purchase!! Trio's product support is POOR!!

Being an older fellow and not as tech savvy as the younger folks, I didn't find the player too hard to setup. Some of the features afre far beyond what I bought the player for but I suspect many will like them.

A resistive touchscreen panel is a technology composed of several layers, the layers that allow control of positioning are two thin, electrically conductive layers separated by a narrow gap. When your finger, presses down on a point on the panel's outer surface the two metallic layers come in contact at that point, and that location is sent to the device - to perform some action or move the cursor. Resistive touchscreens are reliable, but can only be used to control a single point at a time.
capacitive touchscreen panel consists of an insulator such as glass, coated with a transparent conductor such as indium tin oxide (ITO). Since the human body is also an electrical conductor, touching the surface of the screen results in a distortion of the screen's electrostatic field, measurable as a change in capacitance. Different technologies may be used to determine the location of the touch. The location is then sent to the device to be interpreted. Unlike a resistive touchscreen, capacitive requires contact with your finger - it is much more flexible and precise, but you can't use it with gloves, though you can use a capacitive stylus if the device supports them. Capacitive touchscreens also support multi-touch operations that let you perform more complex tasks with a single action.
