works well, easy setup

Installed RAM and a solid state drive easily. Installed WIN7 from an external drive. Windows installed on the SSD very fast. Had the PC up and running in 30 minutes. Very happy with the size and function. Very cool little PC, with a SSD it is completely silent.

Worked no problems with Windows 7

Read the reviews and agree 100% this is an excellent computer, small foot print is what I needed and got. Don't forget the memory, hard drive, and DVD.

Shuttle Makes a Prefect HTPC

Buy this memory (below) when you buy the Shuttle. 4gb laptop memory fits in the mobo and remember to buy a 2.5 sata HD and a laptop sata dvd rom drive. Unit is FANLESS and very quiet. I use it as a Home Theater PC, it's size is prefect. I can also play games and internet. Win 7 Driver disk is included! Great product

This unit was easy to setup. Just snapped in the RAM as you would for a laptop. Slipped in my Kingston 120 GB SSDrive. Powered it up with an external DVD drive. Slipped in my Win7 DVD, loaded it. It just works great. Its my server connecting me to my two prints and backup storage. Totally quiet. Don't even know its on.

Super-fast under Windows, but runs hot

If you install Windows on this machine, make sure to use the installation CD drivers. They are significantly faster than the generic Windows drivers. Also, there is connection for a laptop-style SATA dvd burner in one half of the box. Two problems: Gets flesh-burning hot to the touch in extended operation because of no built-in laptop fan. Does not accept the BCM 700015 video accelerator card that ought to fit in place of the included wifi card. Installing the accelerator card causes the Shuttle not to start up until its wifi card is replaced.

I am sure that, once added the appropriate components (HDD, memory, blu-ray or DVD unit, OS) this will turn into a wondeful small footprint PC. However, at this price, what is the point of doing so - for $250 you can buy a PS3 (including 120 GB HDD, memory and blu-ray unit) on which you can install custom firmware, it will be much cheaper this way. I know, this will no longer allow you to play on PSN - but you were not able to do that with a PC either. Just my 2c.

Great Deal

This a good little cumputer with great performance. The case is plastic. Make sure to read the spec. very careful. HDD, memory and optical drive are needed to complete this project.

Assembly, adding mem., and HD went well. Also installing OS like any other computer. I wish I had read closer, there is no HDMI output. I works fine as a spare small desktop. I installed Ubuntu.

A Great First Build

This was my first experience building a computer of any type and my first experience buying from this store. I have to say, both were good. This is a good, well made product that is good for home or office use. typing, web browsing, and movies work well on this computer. I installed in it the operating system... the most popular open-source operating system that begins with a u, which is what i believe the best platform out there, along with 2 gigs of memory and a laptop hard drive. Don't hesitate to buy because you see that it has an ultra low voltage processor; it works surprisingly well. This is a great product and I would buy here again.
