The concept works! The package ships with just an product key for MS Office Basic 2007 (upgradeable to 2010; read the product description carefully to make sure the offer from Microsoft has not expired). You download the software from Miscrosoft, giving them the product key. I'm cautious, so I left a trial version of Office 2010 installed while I downloaded and installed Office Basic 2007; they worked side-by-side without conflict, allowing me to be assured that I had continuous access to my files. Your mileage may vary. |

Easy to setup if you follow the installation guidelines (remove first any Office trial you might have on your PC, then download the file from MSFT's web site). You get 3 office2007 products but are allowed to get for free the 2010 suite that includes 4 products. For simple home user, that's a great deal. |

Goto the address listed in the -MICROSOFT OFFICE OEM NOTES- on THIS product page of the onlin website. Pay no attention to information enclosed with OEM license, as it is incorrect. After going to Microsofts website, Answer the questions as if you have a NEW PC because if you don't you can't download the OFFICE BASIC Install File need to use your key. Its 410mb. Put in your info and the key you recieved and it will begin to download, I recommend saving it rather then just running it. Once its done run the file and its like any other program install. Took me 20min. P.S. Dont forget to use other address on product page to reg for free 2010 edition. Sorry to be cryptic but this site will not allow you to put specific site info in the blog. |

true to Microsoft, form this product was a complete monster to install. almost half a day just to track down the basic version to for down loading. Finally locating it through the help of other people who suffered before me with the same troubles, and not even on a Microsoft site. For the price, and aggrivation it is not the best purchase I have ever made , but a needed program. I think defusing an IED is easier than installing Microsoft products. |
