Do not buy

I purchased 4 of these systems and they began fine but one by one the cameras started getting fogged up or began to hold water during a rainy day and would cut off. The exchange process is terrible, I have to return at my own expense and it takes over a month to get my replacement. NEVER purchaseing these again, I garbaged them and replaced them with a better quality REAL out door camras.

watch warranty

installed it at my cottage, would not recored, had to return it to swann at my exspence, still have not recieved it back from repairs,its been a month already,buyer beware,iam not very happy at all.

Good value, easy install

Easy to understand installation. Plenty of cable for most applications. The camera has to be fairly straight on, as it doesn't have a very wide range for a larger room.

Poor Night Cameras

D V R does what its supposed to. Easy set-up. Cameras downfall. Good daytime but bad night view when you need it most. Even within the 20 feet range, little or no useful details of a persons face, just a figure unless they put their face right in front of it. These are basic cameras with narrow viewing angles (31degrees)compared to the pro series (62 degrees). I upgraded cameras to P r o 5 8 0 and even my 6 year old can see the difference in night view. As of writing this, there are similar brand systems with the 500 Gig D V R and 4xPro 550 cameras for about same price as this out there. The A D S - 1 8 0 cameras are BAD for nightview and not worth the money in my opinion.

night cameras do not work well at night, grat cameras for daytime use
