Freak'in Awesome! Now, I am free.
I upgraded from a dual core processor to the six core hyper-threaded i7 990x and I must be honest and say that I did not realize what I was getting, WOW! Temps stay around 100 degrees F. I see no reason to overclock this processor, as I run some intense programs simultaneously, and have not even used 20% processing power. My applications have never opened so fast. I am definitely not regretting this purchase. Thank you guys!

Awesome cpu,
The990x is extremely fast and very overclockable. I'm running stock and cpu temp is 11degrees celius at idle and 17 celius during gaming. I bought this cpu and have 24 gigs of corsair triple channel 1600 memory haven't even yet began to make this cpu sweat you get what you pay for. I got the mother board and memory and cpu and case all from here. Awesome.

Awsome Product
The i7 990x won't even work on the classified sr2 motherboard. Only the dual socket 1366 x550 cpu's and the x550 cpu's will. I7 cpu's can't work under symmetrical multiprocessing mode, and therefore can't be installed on dual socket motherboards. The cpu cooler assembly is different. The hole on the motherboard won't fit cpu coolers for i7 cpu's because they have a nut inside. They only fit x5600 and x5500 cpu coolers.
