Inexpensive alternative to landline
After reviewing other alternatives, I decided to go the inexpensive route. Delay of about 2 seconds when answering on house phone is irritating but tolerable. It fails to deliver numbers correctly during phonecalls from house phone. Example: enter your order number, 12345, it repeatedly would enter something else like 11233445. Not sure if it's the bluetooth on the cellphone or the Cobra that is the problem. Will use this until technology catches up then I will buy something better. Satisfied overall.
Very useful but needs improvements
The PhoneLynx is a great device that connects your regular home phones to your cell phone via BlueTooth. It did everything I expected, which was to be allow me to use my home phones the same way I used to! However, I was disappointed by the low quality of the sound. The level control attenuates the sound too much at low levels, while it saturates at loud levels. Another problem is that when someone calls, it takes two seconds after I pick-up the phone to get the connection. The caller always misses my first
The product does the job of receiving bluetooth signal and connect to my old phones. The sound quality is pretty good. The con is I have to wait a few seconds before an incoming call can be heard from the phone. Another problem is that it does not work consistently for phone menu navigation, that is if you enter numbers to reach a certain department store or to enter long calling card password, more than half of time it fails. In these cases, I would use the cell phone instead. Generally, it is an inexpensive solution to use existing home phones to connect to the cell phone service.
