This works for me and is still working. My only issue is that sometimes when sitting idle, the disc seems to slow down it's spin and becomes unreadable...sometimes. Usually when I am booting from the drive. besides that no real problems. If I would have know better I would have gotten a burner combo.

I was easily able to use this to install Windows 7 and Microsoft office disks on my net book. However, not only is the USB cable ridiculously short, the DVD player draws too much power to use a single USB port. I had to use a cable with two USB plugs on the computer side, one for power and the other to transfer data.

Merchandise arrived in a timely fashion. Was needing to load a new program on my MacBook but computers DVD player was not working. Since I do not use the computer's DVD often, it was cheaper to purchase an external unit. When it arrived, the box said it was for Windows OS and no mention of Mac. Called customer service and assured me it would work or I could return it. Performed just fine. I am very pleased.

Didn't realize before ordering that item was an ultra-portable add-on DVD player for a notebook. Small dainty size, hard to open and the shortest USB cable I have ever seen.
