Who Invented The Magic Jack?
Dan Borislow invented magicJack. Dan Borislow is also the founder of YMAX Communications Corporation, a modern phone company with the largest competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) network in the U.S.
Borislow has been in the telecommunications industry for over twenty years and is recognized in the industry for pioneering the development of breakthrough technologies. He previously held the position of CEO and Founder of publicly-held Tel-Save, Inc. At Tel-Save, Borislow revolutionized low-cost long-distance for more than four million America Online (AOL) customers. While with Tel-Save, he saved customers over 40% on their phone bills and also received the prestigious J.D. Power and Associates Award for Customer Satisfaction.
After a brief attempt at retirement, Borislow returned to the telecom industry and invented the magicJack. By eliminating the expense of local and long distance phone charges - and saving the average customer around $1,000 a year - magicJack is positioned to be the fastest growing telecom company in the world; Borislow likes to call it "Telecom Revolution Part II."
Borislow received his Bachelor of Arts degree and an honorary doctorate degree from Widener University where he also serves on the Board of Trustees. He is an avid soccer player, dedicated deep sea fisherman, enjoys watching sports and has a thoroughbred horse breeding business.

I can barely hear those I'm talking with and they say that I keep cutting out so they miss words and phrases I say. They also charge $10 more for a Canadian number, as if that should be necessary.
MagicJack is a GREAT product!!
Regardless of what other people say about the MagicJack, it truly is a great product. You can go into your computer settings and make the sound much better than by default, the support is actually very good. If they can't help you they will forward your live chat to a top 10% representative rated by consumers. They really are a great company that seems to be improving their products greatly. The MagicJack has great value, features, quality, and performance. Don't let bad reviews turn you away from this product. I would highly recommend!!!
Love it but I noticed that if left plugged in, computer freezes and it tries to take over. Just plug when needed and call anywhere. Sounds just like a phone line if you have fast internet.
Stay Away from this JUNK
I have had a problem with this product since October 2011. The unit works fine, but has a bunch of spy ware installed on your system and advertisements. Here are some of the high lights I have found on ownership of this junk: 1. Poor Quality of sound 2. Only chat support is available and very hard to get someone on chat and they disconnect the chat when they can't resolve the problem, but they keep implying that the problems is with you the customers equipment not their product. 3. The major problem is the false advertising they do with never pay another dime for a phone call. 4. You will not be able to call parts of the USA that they don't have a interconnect agreement because they don't want to pay for it.
Poor MJ service
I bought the magic jacket plus on line. The power supply is not working at all, I called MJ. They have to charge me US$20.91 for the power supply plus shipping. Very poor service. When they ship out the product, they did never inspect it. I 've to pay extra for the replacement. Never to buy it on line. I don't suggest to buy it directly from the MJ.
