Well it works for a few minutes
We was using this on a derby race track and windows 7 laptop, we had to keep unplugging it from the pc and reconnected to get it to work right was replace by a trendnet adapter
Great Product and Price
Added this to a laptop which had a serial connection but kept dropping out...Easy to install in Win XP Pro, easy to set up if you remember to adjust for port changes....
Makes Old Stuff Keep on Working
Add to retire an old computer with a serial port. New one has none. Had to connect this new computer to an old electronic knitting machine for uploading and down loading of electronic patterns. Was very concerned that anything I bought would not do the job. This did it! Absolutely no problems. Everything works as intended. Great product. I highly recommend it.
Be careful to find the CD
I bought this for a friend, who told me it didn't work - and we ended up sorting through the trash. When we found the packaging I had to agree: there's no indication that a CD is enclosed. It looks just like a cable by itself with a piece of cardboard. The blister pack is so hard you can't tell by flexing, either. So, supervise the installation.

Works for most applications. I have constant hang ups trying to program AB computers with Win 7. I have ordered a FTDI chip cable to replace this
